A sci-fi pack and a WW2 pack come with it as well as some more generic things and some animated decals. Also, there is sooo much free media to found in the forums that you can very quickly build up your library without spending additional money - though you will probably find yourself wanting to buy more stuff. It's addicting.

So, is X10 better graphics than the original Fpscreator? If so, is it worth buying

The short answer is yes. Also you get a full x9 license with x10. With either engine you are going to have to work to make it worth your time/money. Don't take that the wrong way; I'm not making any assumptions. 100s of people read these threads who don't post and general advice is sometimes good advice.

The best and most succinct of the x10 v x9 "argument" was written by science boy. So, I'll post it here:

sick of this debate and the wars it brings.

X9 HAS A LOT OF USERS AND HAS A NICE ARRAY OF MODELS AND AI.
X9 HAS A LOT OF SUPPORT FROM TGC AND MOD MAKERS.
X9 DOES HAVE A LOT OF GREAT AND WONDERFUL FEATURES.LIKE LIP SYNC,PARTICLE MAKER,ADVANCED AI,WHICH X10 DOES NOT HAVE.
X9 CAN RUN ON LOWER SPEC COMPUTERS MAKING IT MORE UNIVERSAL AND NOT WORRYING ON THE GPU TO RUN IT.
THIS IS FACTUAL. HOW DO I KNOW, I USE IT. I HAVE IT

X10 HAS NEWER SHADERS PS4 SO IT DOES HAVE NICER GRAPHICS,
ALSO NOTE X9 USES 512 X 512 TEXTURE SIZES X10 USES 1024 X 1024
HENCE MORE DETAIL DRAWN AND FOR BETTER GRAPHICS, FACT.(OR WAS)
X10 HAS INSTANCING MEANING YOU CAN HAVE MORE THAN ONE ENEMY SCATTERED ABOUT (without ever worrying of performance).
X10 USES MULTI CORE THREADING MAKING FOR A FASTER ENGINE.
X10 CAN USE MOST MODEL PACKS AND ALL HAVE BEEN CONVERTED
HOW DO I KNOW THIS, I HAVE IT AND HAVE DONE IT.

X10s BEST FEATURE TO ME IS THE ON SCREEN EDITOR IN GAME. life is so mush easier.

and x10 has MYSTIC MOD now and is adding many new things
it has fixed many bugs and has variable systems, cam shake, and new ai also.

both engines can use the same media so there is no cant have from either side, x9 will run 1024 textures but cut down to 512, x10 run 512. both now in dds format so no problem there, the main issues are the scripts, and if you know how to script then work arounds are done.
in the end x10 is kept alive and x9 is thriving both are good and make for fun and challenging ideas

NOT A FLAME WAR A FACT MAIL, LOOKING FROM BOTHS PERSPECTIVE.

In my mind the best thing about x10 is its performance and the quality of graphics right out of the gate.

Also....MysticMod...is the best thing about x10.

MysticMod is a continuation of x10 supported and developed by community members - specifically Budo. It adds a ton of newer scripting actions and conditions as well as fixes to existing bugs and many other new features.

It is free. Once you have installed x10 and updated it, run FPSC cleaner found in the bin folder. Then install MysticMod as instructed on the official thread. The first post will contain the most recent public version.

It's a big improvement over vanilla x10 and I would recommend it to all x10 users.

Cheers,

I just looked at the requirements and i thought my 2010 laptop would have a strong enough Processor to run X10. My processor is a Intel Centrino 2 1.30 GHZ

I've ran x10 on a archos tablet pc with Windows starter and a far, far inferior chipset. However, I did have to manually place the x10 drivers in the registry. Not saying it ran great, but it ran.

Anyway, the free edition does not allow you to export your games to .exe. But if your goal is just to mess around in a game engine, then there would be no need for that. If you want to make games you can share and distribute, you will need a full version of either program.

I am looking to distribute so i will buy the full version. I just read the forum and it said "2.00 GHZ minimum" so i should be fine? Just it will be slightly slower, right?

Hey,

I'm sorry to say but FPSC X10 will not work very good on that CPU. You need at least a 2 Ghz DualCore processor.

Good luck.

No, not yet. Buy FPSC X10 and you can use the key for it to get the full version of X9. So it's two for the price of one!
