I know you can make it with the Build-game option but I dont want to pay for it, is there a way to make a room or area pitch black without going through the build-game option?

Please nothing negative. If there isn't a way to without the upgrade then ill just get it some other time.

Thanks!

Wrong section...

But the </, and >/. keys will turn the ambience up and down. You really should buy it though...

You could just change a room segments texture to a plain solid black texture, if thats what your after.

Just to clarify... if a segment was made solid black, would it not be transparent? That is how we made "invisible" wall segments (using RGB 0,0,0). So instead of solid black (0,0,0), you could go RGB 1,1,1.

Is that not only with .jpg, wouldnt a dds (no transparent alpha layer) appear black?
If it was the case that pure black appears transparent why does it not get transparent in parts of a segment/entity that may have this?
I never use black for transparency always alpha layers.

You're probably right, Rolfy. Cathy is the texture artist here, and I do know she used alpha channels when making her floor grates see-through. She knows more about this than me. I may have crossed my information with something else. I had been under the impression that pure black was transparent. I will stick to level design.

Do you mean as if a light went out and you couldn't see anything in the room? If so just have a triggerzone set the ambiance level to 0.

Cheers.

God help me, Please.
