Hi everyone, as you may (or not) know, ADG is celebrating their first anniversary on the 17th of November (which also happens to be my birthday ), and for that reason we want to spoil you guys n girls with some great prizes!
But, in order to win some of those amazing prizes, we want you to do something in return for us.
Don't worry, it's not hard to accomplish or you don't need to be the chosen one. Heheheh.
All that we ask of you, is to create the most amazing ADG wallpaper possible. That's it.
Of course, there are some rules to comply. Here they are:

TASK:
- Create the best looking wallpaper related to ADG (and game making). Any 2D or 3D program can be used.

RULES:
- The wallpaper must be either in .png, or .jpg format. No bitmap (.bmp)!
- Image size must be 1440x960 (best suited to crop/resize for multiple resolutions).
- 1024x768 is also allowed for judging (and winning), but the author will be asked to make a final 1440x960 version.
- The 'Sofachrome' font must be used to write the letters ADG! It can be downloaded here on this post (at the bottom).
- The wallpapers must be signed by the author (right-hand corner).
- No copying or using of someone elses images! Creations must be your own work!
- Multiple entries per contestant are allowed, but only one prize per winner.

DEADLINE:
- Submissions must be posted on the official ADG wallpaper thread (which is HERE) by 00:00HRS 1st of January 2012 (BEFORE New Year).

JUDGING:
- Judging will be done by the ADG administrators, and their decision IS final.
- Winners will be announced 1st of February 2012.

Now, for the prizes:

PRIZES
1st
- Model-2-Sprite by Matty H
- ADG Best Graphics Badge (Gold) - For the best graphics to be used by the winner on the forums or in their game art for perpetuity
- Full Catalogue of apps from baxslash (including as yet unreleased software)
- Animated sprite pack from TheSlayer with 60 animated spritesheets
- Wallpaper will be uploaded for anyone to download

2nd
- Rich Dersheimers' ADG Particle Box
- ADG Best Graphics Badge (Silver) - For the best graphics to be used by the winner on the forums or in their game art for perpetuity
- 500 Lines of bespoke code from baxslash
- Animated sprite pack from TheSlayer with 40 animated spritesheets
- Wallpaper will be uploaded for anyone to download

Runners up (x3)
- ADG Best Graphics Badge (Bronze) - For the best graphics to be used by the winner on the forums or in their game art for perpetuity
- Full Catalogue of apps from baxslash (including as yet unreleased software)
- Animated sprite pack from TheSlayer with 20 animated spritesheets
- Wallpaper will be uploaded for anyone to download

I made a quick wallpaper example to give you all an idea of what can be done. Of course, let your imagination run wild.

I would like to thank everyone who offered a prize for the contest, as well as everyone else who participated in getting the contest a fact.

Finally, here is the Sofachrome font to be used for the 'ADG' letters.

Good luck to all!

How are you all doing? Hope to see some great artistic entries.
And remember, remaining prizes go to the ADG administrators.
So, I'd suggest you give it a go.

Good luck!

Lol, your logo looks too good Slayer. Who'd be brave enough to step up to the challenge. You may as well take all the prizes now because that wall paper looks the business.

Hehheh, that would be awesome, but unfortunaly, I can't compete. As an ADG Administrator, I can't participate in this competition, so that is good news for you guys!
Thanks for the nice comments, though.

Btw, my name is also Chris. Let's shake hands.

Why such small 4:3 resolution requirement?

Eh, here's my attempt

Nice work, Phaelax!

Quote: "Why such small 4:3 resolution requirement?"

Well, we changed the resolution requirements a bit.
1440x960 (which is most suited to easily crop/resize for multiple resolutions) is allowed and 1024x768 (see note).

Note: entries of which the resolution is already set at 1024x768 will be allowed for judging (and winning), but the author will be asked to make a final wallpaper of 1440x960 (because of easier cropping/resizing to multiple resolutions).

Hope to see more entries like this, guys! Keep it up!

Cheers

Hum, let's just call it a draw.

Just want to remind everyone that there are still two competitions going on at the moment with great prizes HERE and HERE.
You can find the official ADG site HERE to upload your entries and win one of those wonderful prizes.
Remember, signing up for an ADG account is totally free.

Prizes are given by TGC, Matty H, Rich Dersheimer, baxslash, JRNTexas and me. Thanks for that, guys!

Anyways, good luck to all who competes. You have still a couple of weeks to make something and win one of those great prizes.

Cheers

Great job, 3Bit! Nice!

Anyone else wants to have a go at this and show of his artistic talent? I'm sure there are plenty of artistic skilled people amongst you all!

With a few weeks left, you still have the time to make something.

Comme on, guys, show us what you've got!

Nice job, David!

There's just one thing, though. One of the rules says that you need to use the 'Sofachrome' font for the ADG letters. You can download it on the first post of this thread.

Cheers

Excellent, David!

Another great entry!

I wish to remind everyone that multiple entries per contestant are allowed, but only one prize per winner.

Also, only entries posted on the ADG site before the deadline, will be judged.

Thanks.

Cheers

Only a few days left, everyone.
There's still room for more entries, and you still have a chance to win one of the amazing prizes, so open up your graphic programs, and start designing!

Remember, upload your entry on the ADG site HERE to have a chance of winning. Good luck.

Guess I can't win, I'm not a community member so I can't see the forum and there's no register link anywhere on your site.

Yes, you can, and yes there is.

Go HERE. At the bottom, look for 'Dev Login'. Click on that link. Then you'll see another page, and there select 'Create an account'.

Good luck.

Okay, here's my entry for the wallpaper contest. I wanted to post it earlier, but the other administrators held me captive in an electrical chair to make sure I didn't enter.
Even if I am far too late with this, and even if I'm not allowed to compete, here's my entry.

Good luck to everyone! And, thanks again for all the amazing entries, guys!

NOTE: This competition is now closed. We wish to thank everyone for their entries. Judging will be done over the next few weeks, and the winners will be announced when a decision has been reached.
