Take a look at this:

= over 5,000 polys and at once 10,000

Now look at this video done by TGC(Notice they don't lag):

I tried to make an area with weeds like that and I reach 70,000+ polys just because the weeds have so many polys. What I want to know is why I am getting so many polys alng with lag when they have 5x the stuff i had in a view.

Cheers.

God help me, Please.

It's not just about the polys, it's also got a lot to do with the computer. being a fan of optimization, I think I can help you. can you please post your specs?

@beast. again its the invisible-wall-thing in outdoor levels

place invisible walls around or use the trick with resetting all used segments to visoverlay=1 when playtesting (reset to original for building levels). i wrote you with my testlevels for the scriptservice. here is the thread:

What are your system specs?

This is the minimum specs for Crysis 2:

Operating system: Windows 7 / Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) / Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Processor: 2Hz Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better

Memory: 2 GB or more; 3 GB for Windows Vista (SP1)

Disc Drive: 8X or faster

Hard Disk Space: At least 9 GB of free space

Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible video card 512 MB*
* NVidia 8800GT with 512 MB RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512 MB RAM, or better.

Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Input: Keyboard, Mouse or Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows

Even if you have these specs here it will run pretty much like crap. In order to run Crysis, I would double what they list above. I bring this up as an example of a highly detailed game that requires a good amount of specs. Another spec that gets overlooked often is the frontside bus speed.

I looked that video card up on Nvida's web site. If I'm reading those stats right is says it is a laptop video chipset, isn't that HP model a desktop? If that's the case I think that might be integrated graphics which would be your problem. You could get a dedicated stand alone video card, disable that one and be all set.

Yes, I'm planning to upgrade the graphics card soon, this one is just too weak to handle gaming well.

well, as is obvious, there could be plenty of problems with that map. first, I'd suggest using foliage sparingly. understand that if you want to make lots of plants and whatnot, the game will probably end up needing to look more like GTA san andreas to be anything like playable. there are plenty of tricks of lighting and billboard use you can do, to help ease the load on the engine. the problem there is that your video card, the 9100, isn't enough to handle much from FPSC. all the RAM and processor cores in the world also won't help when all FPSC can use is 1 processor core and 2gb of ram. I'd suggest either getting a nicer card, or refraining from use of rocks and plants unless the focal point of a map.

Anyone notice how the plants flicker in the video? Is this like a shader thing or something?
