Hi Guys,
Has been quite awhile since I came onto the FPS Creator scene.

Just wanted to ask a simple question, which is, if people would be interested in a YouTube like site dedicated to only FPS Creator.

Just would like to read your thoughts and see if there is any interest in the matter. If there is I am considering hosting one for you all.

Well the idea I had was hosting the videos on a web-server dedicated to FPS-Creator, not just creating YouTube channels. Actually creating a full fledged video media sharing site.

I personaly think it would be a good idea. but there would be implications, ok lets shed some light on my imps.

Monitoring rated contents
Creating and managing accounts, due to country viewning and restrictions, bad contents being submmited.

Sever over and management,
ok what would happen if the server crashes or you decide to close it down for whatever reason that may accur during your life, Example, if you decide you have had enough with fpsc and its community, then all video contents and links would cease!

As for youtube it is a well founded video community, that is heavily sponsored, and for this the system grows and grows to deal with the demand of files being submmited/uploaded.

don't get me wrong as youtube has its faults, but i think that it would create many bad fibes towards TGC/FPSC site and software if it got abused, and trust me it will get abused, as it only took 2 weeks before some idiot from this community decided to hack a part of my site as i left a weakspot in the script.

so there are nasty idiots around that would create a propblem, hence youtube gets it all the time!

Anyway this is not a NO! from me but almost a Yes as in a good idea

And so lets see others point of view to this idea!

A noble task, but it seems like unneeded replication. Although it would be dedicated as opposed to YouTube being only a channel, that makes no difference to the end user. It would never get the exposure, notoriety, and traffic that the one channel alone gets on YouTube, and if it did you couldn't afford to keep it.

I guess the question is... do you want to do it? What could you bring to it that YouTube doesn't offer? What would make it better or different.

The problem you going to have is how will you monitor bad content and the site will be used to promo porn if they could.

The other problem is could you afford to keep the site going if some vids where getting hits of about 500,000, thats a lot of bandwidth.

Basic what xplosys and spudnick said.

If it was me I would not go through the headache because people will still just use youtube.

Bandwidth is no problem but I sort of had a hunch what the response would be but thought I would throw it out there anyway.

The monitoring of videos and stuff wouldn't be a problem either I can easily monitor that sort of thing.

Also with the worries of me closing it down, if people were going to use it I wouldn't shut it down, I would also hire others to assist me in the control so if real life does take over there would be others to help out.

But with the responses it seems there isn't enough interest which is ok, I guess I will just fix up FPS-Files, as I am in one of those creative moods.

I enjoy watching other people's games, so I think it's a great idea.

Vental is some person who makes himself look stupid....mostly. Well, this is due to the weirdness he shares, which leads to cyber bullying. P.S. Beware the chocolate ice cream!
