Greetings everyone! This is my first project ever, you may tell by how bad the graphics are. My husband roams these boards and has been helping me. Hope to make something exiting. Nothing too complicated now, just a old-school rpg shooter similar to Heretic. First level has you escaping a dungeon after become a prisoner.

I will update as I figure everything out. Thanks everyone for viewing!

Peace

Neat idea.

To really make it look authentic, I would use no lightmapping at all, and especially stop using shaders on your surfaces.

Not a bad start

Thanks for the comments! I'm mostly testing segments and entities currently. I have the first few levels designed and will be building them once I have all the media created. Next is trying to figure out weapons...

If FPSC had the option to turn off the anisotropic and texture filtering then you would REALLY have the olschool look. I like this though!

First area of the first level is finally finished. Game has your typical Wolfenstein breakout followed by burning ogre jailers.

How do you get your textures to look that way?

I do the textures at 16x16 resolution and use a 1 pixel brush with zero falloff. Then I paint them.

Quick look at the next area, ogre 'dinning room'.

Still have a lot more work on my hands. There's a lot of details I want to add to make this more alive.

Thanks, working hard on this. Here's one more update before I head to bed.

New areas include a secret area and the training room.

This has got to be one of the most unique looking FPSC games I've ever seen (and I'm loving it!) I can't wait to see more!

I love it all but would have liked to have seen a slightly higher pixel count on the textures (I'm a glutten for detail).
This takes me back to the original 'DOOM' days which I am still very fond of and its nice to see you are including 'secret' areas in your map design which I think gives games an edge.
Wish you all the luck with this and looking forward to seeing more.
