Hello. I noticed expressions for determining whether or not mipmapping and antialiasing are available on the video card. I did not find any commands for using them. I want to use both in my game, so are there commands for those or is it automatically handled by the video card? Even mipmapping-does the video card automatically change textures if mipmapping is available?

When last I searched for this the answer was NO for Antialiasing.

DBPro couldn't turn this on or off. Don't know if this has changed since but the only way to get AA in DBPro games was to force it onto your game by the graphics driver.

No idea about mipmapping though.

That doesn't mean all modern engines support it.

In DBPro the closest thing we have to to AA is multisampling. Look into set display mode.

Mipmapping is automatically handled unless you manually turn it off. To do so, you can use: set object, set object texture, or set object filter.

Just because your GPU supports it, doesn't mean it is actually being used. Without a method for us to turn it on, it might as well not even exist.

Mipmapping is available in DBP as mentioned by revenant chaos.
Antialiasing can be controlled through the STYX plugin. (If you can get it to work) You could also probably handle it with dll calls.

Isn't muilti-sampling a type of anti-aliasing? If I remember correctly it increase the original resolution, and blurs out the sharp edges and then reduces it back to normal. Anyway...

The Anti-aliasing in STYX is a bit iffy, as far as I know there was a problem with full screen effects used in conjunction with it.

Mipmapping is set up automatic and can be turned by either the "Set Object filter" command with the flag set to 0.
