Has any one checked out the new YouTube look yet?
Apparently this is going live soonish.
But here is how to look at it now

Quote: "This only currently works on FireFox and Chrome (Possibly also Opera)
First, head on over to http://youtube.com
Then open up the browser developer tools, this is done like this:
In Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + K (Win) | Cmd + Shift + K (Mac)
In Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + J (Win) | or Cmd + Alt + J (Mac)
Copy the following line of code:
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=ST1Ti53r4fU";
Paste that into the console and hit enter.
Refresh the YouTube page, and you are done!"

I personally love the new look What does everyone else think?

Regards,

Max

AWESOME!

I like it, but it seems like it's really designed towards cellphones. I don't honestly need three inches of space on each side of my screen.

Looks kinda modern and cool, the colour scheme is nice, but the layout sucks.

This was my original thought. I think it would look a lot better stretched back out, whilst retaining the 'modern and cool' look.

Get a smaller screen!

I got the new home page last week after seeing an article on lifehacker

The grey colour is killing my eyes, especially against the white subscription boxes.

Other than that.. It's ok, the vertical layout is tedious to look through.

I did the console thing, but nothing changed. Youtube has looked like this for me for a week or two now:

Is that what everyone else is seeing with the update?

Yes, you must have been the early tester. Youtube picks random users to have the update and thats just how the cookie crumbles.

I like it. It flows nicely and works pretty well!

Not so nuts about how narrow it is either, but we'll get used to it.

I suspect other sites are going to start getting more narrow now that phones and tablets are becoming much more popular.

I too have had this layout for a week or something, I think it's too narrow but other than that it's nice. The new channel page is great IMO.

OK why the hell did they get rid of the possibility to look at the guys uploads and watch his videos at the same time? If you go to someone's channel, all you see is a list of videos and his activities, but you have to click on the video and go to another page to watch it...

I used to have a friend's list on there but I can't find it anymore (seriously though, does anyone know where I can access my friend's list/management?)

I find it disorienting, but most of the youtube videos I watch are the result of a post/blog post, so I just copy the url, download it, and watch it on my tv

They broke the thing where you could press 'x' to remove a video from your subscriptions, and now your subscriptions are just a long list instead of sorted into channels.

At least they fixed the thing where the video buttons would drop down even when you had your mouse cursor over them.
