They are completely different languages, and can't be compared really

Interesting thing, that - Deja Vu.

I personally think it's when a delay occurs somewhere in the brain meaning we maybe see ourselves doing something milliseconds before feeling it thus giving the impression of alreay having done something.

Well its more plausible than alternative realities

this is like comparing a Mac truck with a Lotus Elise, they are both very good at what they are intended for, but dire when taken out of context, I wouldn`t use VB to make games (to restrictive and you need to talk to DX direct or via optional librarys, plus you need the VB runtime to make it all work), and I wouldn`t attempt to write a stock control program or a 3D raytracer in DB (even with the Blue add-on, DB is made for speed and tends to overlook details like giving the expected results to equations ) <jk>
Seriously, each has relative plus and minus points, the bugs in DB are annoying, but they are clearing them (just stop adding features until you have it stable Lee....ok? ), while VB is very stable but not very fast when it comes to graphics, and the native commands are very limited anyway.
Like I say, no serious comparison can be made, just because you can make comparisons doesn`t mean they have any validity, just like haveing the ability to do something doesn`t mean you have to do it, (something some people who are considered very smart would have done well to think on over the years)

It is possible to make games in VB but I don't know how fast they would be. There is an SDK called TrueVision 3D 6.0 which is very similar to DB in that it is a wrapper for directX functions but you program against it in an oopl like vb6,vb.net,c++,c# etc. It is a package of COM Objects and it quite nifty. DBP on the other hand is pretty fast, has it's own version of Basic to code in, and is easy to learn and begin making games quickly. It's really just personal preference on which way you go.
If you are an experienced vb/c programmer give truevision a look, it's free to download.

It's a kit for developing software

Games and Application software will sometimes release a SDK (Software Development Kit). This includes code that can be used to modify and or add to theyr game/Software. Allthough they dont always include code its common... sometimes they have special software that is used instead for modding. Really all it is is just a package with the (some/all)material needed to make a modification and or addon.

P.S. Think I missed something but this should give you an basic idea.

No, DarkBASIC has nothing whatsoever to do with Visual Basic.

You need a Gamecube SDK to create games for the GC, for example (but you need a lisence too )

In general (aside from game sdk's) an sdk is usually a collection of Objects/Classes (as dll's) that a company will release for developers to use with their coding projects to allow some enhanced functionality, or to tie in with their proprietary products. For example my buddy dan and I wrote a software package for my wife's work, which included a data collection utility, sql db, and we incorporated the PayServer SDK which allowed our application to bill credit cards from our application and verify them tcp/ip with their bank. The sdk was all of the bundled functionality (dll's) that we needed to properly communicate, authenticate, and batch close all of the financial transactions with the bank.

hope this clears it up a little.
Again this is just one form of an sdk, their is no "golden rule" as to what an sdk can contain - other examples mentioned above are good examples as well.
