you really can get temp housekeeping work easily over the Christmas holiday period, trust me i work in hotel housekeeping.
you'll be doing simple stuff like stripping rooms, making beds and vacuming and such. can't help you with the air fair, that is hefty.
and yeah, there is a lot of stuff here that can kill you... but... "it's more scared of you than you are of it"

just don't leave your shoes outside, check them before you put them on even when left inside,
don't run in long grass on a hot day (dont walk on grass bare foot period.) and swim between the flags.
beware Bindi's, they will take you down.
and wear sun cream.
and don't turn your back on a Maggie in swooping season.
and beware drop bears - they will end you.
you ever heard of the nargen? respect aboriginal culture or it will eat you.
btw this is for the mellow/reletivly non lethal parts of australia. you go to NT or far north queensland, may the ghost of Steve Irwin help you because god will not.
