Geek Culture / last resort...Please help me with my PC

So a few weeks ago, I posted about how I was getting my PC ready for Skyrim, and I thought the problem was RAM, found out the HDD had some bad sectors.

Anyway, after upgrading everything, and replacing the HDD with my warranty. Computer lags on all games, including Terraria, and occassionally beeps (no error code beep though).

Here is my current hardware, it's easier if I include links for now since I'm on my phone at work on break so I have little time.

Please, any help is appreciated. I ran men tests on RaM, no problems, hdd was just replaced. Computer lags on ALL games, and beeps on the more intense games.

beeps... thats an odd one.

does the pc lose its file sytem after beeps?

i once had a system that had too big a video card for my power source, my system would crash a lot, beep and I would lose my file system(pain in the butt to reinstate my harddrives file system each time), i would also often fry my ram chips.

would help to know your system specs to see that your system wouldnt lag under the weight of games.

what exactly happens just before your computer beeps?

what are the constants you have noticed?

If you've just upgraded your hardware I'd say it's quite possibly a power issue.

Constants are the beeps happen when something graphical happens (loading games, going into sleep)

No, crashing was in the past, hasn't happened yet

I'm going to say that that's somewhat on the low side Might think about getting a PSU with a little more power.

It would still work, but it would struggle and cause all kinds of problems, like you are having. I'd recommend a 750W+ PSU.

Ok, you guys were right. New power supply fixed the problem. Thank you all for the help, it was driving me crazy!

Sorry for double post, just wanted it updated so those involved know I appreciated the help

Skyrim is sooooo beautiful on max settings btw!

The GTX 550 only requires a 400w PSU, his 450 should be enough, but I'd go with a 550w to be on the safe side. A 750 is just unnecessary at this point.

I own a GTX550Ti and I'm running Phenom X4 with it on a Corsair CX500w supply. 750w is pretty much overkill but you won't need to change it in the future.
