Hi, I recently got myself a copy of FPSC X9 and I've been having a blast with it. It's easy to use, full of advantages and a good engine overall. However I do have a few questions I'm hoping the community can answer so I can max out my FPSC games

1. How do I make everything dark? In game test there is always light and I'm trying to find out how to make everything pitch black aside from parts where I have put lights.
2. How do I make invisible walls? It's been bugging me for a while.
3. How do I add in-game text? So it can say stuff like "Press something to do something" and then disappear after a while.
4. Is it possible to talk to NPCs and make them trigger events through talking?
5. And lastly, what's the best/cheapest software used to record the screen? Might not be FPSC related but well, I try

Thanks in advance!
Cheers, ElkkuPRKL

1. Use the . and , keys on your keyboard to lower the ambience

2. Make a segment with a pure black (0,0,0) texture.

3. Use xplosys' TextEase (Search the forum for it) or make a script that does it (you will need to look for one, or learn .fpi)

4. Yes, through scripting.

5. There is lots, but the most commonly used one is FRAPS.

Hope this helped.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.
