Hello I wanted to ask this simple question. I been out of FPSC since the start of v117 I been doing work on other engines and I really like FPSC for its quick implementing and creating of Games (like it for small work) But every time I would make levels or do some maps it would crash alot! frequently. So I wanted to ask how is it now?

In my opinion, bugs have greatly decreased since V1.

It really depends on how much you play around with things. The more you edit FPE's (removing blood, which can still be done w/o bugs!) and stuff, the more likely you are to incur bugs and crashes. Some bugs still exist, such as the invisible character problem. But FPSC is still a very good engine.

Generally speaking it seems very stable to me now.

invisible character problems? =not good
not loading in all items after a saved game=not good
slow frame rates=not good
Bad character animations and timing=not good
the way segments are added=not good
not being able to switch back and forth from levals=not good
no 3rd person support=no good

I can go on and on, trust me, I almost did,but got tired, all on all this engine is ok,its fun to play with, really, only to play with.

I loaded the same leval I created into dark basic pro, and got frame rates of 60 frames per second, in fpsc, the same leval, frame rates of 14 on the same machine.

fpac is well, ok, but remember,it was writen in dark basic pro,and the code i used to load the leval was small,I had a player camera, leval, full collition and all,sky box, textures,it runs at 60 frames per sec.

My point is this, you can use some one elses idea of a game engine with alot of problems to boot like fpsc. or you can write your own,I write my own,I think more people should, the tools are here for you.

my signature keeps being erased by a mod So this is my new signature.

Please keep this on topic - the original posters comments were about the engines stability in relation to crashes, not other fpsc issues, bugs, glitches and so on. We all know there are those so no point in repeating them here and everywhere else.

Thanks

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.
