I am using the Tree Magik G-3 which is a great program. But when I load a bunch of trees and use a simple shader to animate them my framerate drops But when I play a game like Oblivion, they have hundreds of trees and you never skip on the framerate. How can I achieve this?

Billboards are the fastest way to go in DBPro. Take a look at this http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=192111&b=5 which is something I released for everyone. I use in the game upto 10,000 trees.

Dark Imposters is a good add on for this sort of thing. I've been too busy with AppGameKit to mess with it much since I purchased it, but it will certainly help you get a far bigger looking world running faster.

I remember the article Lee wrote, but I couldn't find it. What is DarkImposter. Never heard of it.

I think you'll find it in Newsletter #70 from November 2008.
