A while back Visigoth started using [href]www.usgs.gov[/href] satellite imagery inside DarkBasic. I collaborated with Visigoth and added the same functionality into the Jegas Game Classes - which I have since made open source (So the code is available in DarkGDK however it works with DarkGDK prior to the November2008 beta - when the vertex operations all changed).

Anyway, I found myself recently jumping from DarkGDK to various other Game Engines and I wanted Satellite info in each... so I wrote a utility that converts Satellite imagery to 24-Bit BITMAPS and Raw16. I officially released it yesterday... have a look if you like:

I've attached a portion of a gray-scale image of the Grand Canyon in Arizona USA.

I remember that USGS stuff when I was last on here. Some of the models of the Grand Canyon you can create are just waiting to find uses in peoples games.

One question, does this program just output the Bitmaps, or can it create the models ready to use in things like Crytek engine? (Forgive me if that's not how the crytek engine works)

I'll agree it's cool, and should be attracting more attention, but a few more details would be nice =)
