How can I import a X file to the Milkshape modeler or to 3dS max 5

For Milkshape look into the help (or simply search through the menu) and for 3dsMax use the Panda Exporter.

you can`t import X files to Milkshape. i do`t now about 3d max try looking in the try look at the import button.

If I'm informed right, then 3DsMax only imports 3ds (but I could be wrong, as I was wrong regarding Milkshape ).
Then my advice would be, search for Deep Exploration.

3ds does not natively support importing .x files... but i know there is a plugin for it... im looking for it again (system-wide crash... lost ALL data )

D Man is right about max, Panda Exporter is pretty good.

yes the panda exporter is good... but he was wondering about 'importing' the .x file into 3DS

sorry just read ur post again (IMPORT) hehe panda lets u export but not import.

you could try using quick3D Pro, u can open ur file there and save it as a max compatable format and then go into max

to import x into ms3d just use the directx mesh tool and open the object
works on most objects but loses animations
