DarkBASIC Pro and FPSC only run on windows as they require directx.

Thanks.. Yes Linux Debian, Ubuntu etc..
So far I really dislike Win7. 64bit

Silly me thinking a, ASUS P8P67-M Pro with Intel i5 and 16Gig ram with N560GTx-Ti 2gig would rock with Win7. but alass Win7 has problems.

As does the ASUS-Motherboard and i guess the N560GTx-Ti card..
Nothing has been good from Microsoft since I think, DOS4.4

How ever Win7 is better in some ways than our other 2 machines running ASUS M2N68-AM Plus with AMD 2,1GHZ 4 GIG Ram and GForce 320's, Although XP almost never crashes, like Win7

Even though the Centos5.5 is still a lot faster but it only runs a web server and email server.

One more thing though. Which Compiler do I need for DarkBasicPro please?
c++ 5, 8 or 10?

You can install wine on centos. If you're good with linux it's not extremely difficult to get basic applications running. ("not extremely difficult" meaning I didn't find it any more difficult than getting the operating system to work in the first place. eg it requires lots of fiddling and googling.)

Of course, the more you want to tap into (advanced directx features and shaders) the more bugs you'll run into.

Although... if you're running linux you might be better off with something like purebasic.

I think you're confusing DarkBasicPro with Dark GDK (http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2128).
