Before anything: Yes we split screen on a PC, So what ! Don't make dumb comments saying how weird it is and to just simply buy a console. I am aware of that ! I don't have a TV yet to use my PS3. Last TV broke and I don't have the money yet to buy another one.

Sorry for the extra long title and explanation below but:

I have 4 Wired Xbox 360 Controllers on my PC. Me and my friends use them to play some games split screen (Blur, Unreal Tournament 3, Trine, some Emulators Etc) on my PC

The controllers are all set up just fine but the problem is, the player indicator lights on all the controllers is set to Player one.

This doesn't mean that the games detect all controllers only as player one, they work just fine for the other player slots. However it sometimes get confusing having to figure out which controller is player 2 and etc.

I do have them connected to it's own PCI USB Hub in a specific order that 80% of the time when I boot up windows. The controllers are set to players in order (I have them on top of the PC all the time when not in use in order from top to bottom. Top is first player and bottom is 4th player etc). But this doesn't always work. Sometime's they swap player slots.

Is there someway to change the indicator light on the controllers corresponding to the correct player number ?

the indicator lights are controlled by the game itself. If your game doesn't support it, the lights will be messed up. No fixing it.

The lights are always set to Player One upon Windows Boot and never change.

So far none of the games seem to be controlled by it. There is no opinion about it anywhere in the game

the game itself has to be programmed to support it. I have games, like guitar hero, that use the lights just fine. For me, usually the lights are not on until a game is started.

Remember this is Windows not Xbox 360...

The lights go on upon boot...

Explain to who in plain English ? Last I check I can read and write (type as well) nearly perfect English.

I only guessed that because you said guitar hero and I had no idea there is a PC version to that game until just a few hours ago.

This is weird because the lights go on once windows is booted. All 4 Controllers are always set to player 1 (according to the lights but the games detect them as different players). Well, seems there is no fix for it...

I was speaking metaphorically

btw you can simply plug in each controller while windows is on... but before you start the game...

I am sure you can actually assign each controller a player id... I read it ages ago when they first introduced the drivers for pc so no idea now.

From my first post:

You might want to check out the software listed under support. I have no idea what it does or if it'll help, I don't use it

Good luck!

I downloaded and installed the "Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories" software and all it does is when I press the guide button on the controllers they tell me the player number. Which is good. however, the lights on the controllers still doesn't change.

It's fine though, this helps a lot. At least now I know which players is before starting a game to avoid confusion. But still would've been better if the lights show the correct player number.

Oh well, can't have everything in life. Thanks Jerico2day this really does help a lot...
