Ok, i did say that i was gonna start a medieval (and fantasy) themed community pack. So here it is.

Anyone can contribute, and i hope many will do it. This pack is, as i said, based on medieval and fantasy, and a few examples of stuff that matches the theme is wooden barrels, swords, shields, spell books and flags. Viking themed stuff and nature/landscape stuff is accepted as well.

Some games and movies to get inspiration from is for example; Lord of the rings, Hexen and The elder scrolls.

Everyone who contributed will be credited.

I'm making models for this pack right now, so i'll put up some pics as soon as i'm finished. Uh, i'm almost finished.

Cheers,
J Swain

Looking good as before. I hope that this generates as much interest and content and the urban pack.

Thankies!

Uh, Urban Pack isn't a community pack. It's a pack entirely made by me. I think you mean the Modern Pack.

I'm in on this one. Fantasy is my game.

Don't forget to add an in-game shot to your first post, just to keep this within the rules. Thanks Jay.

Cool weapons! Someone who can should make an armored version of the MP6 hands. But for the moment, Bond1's fantasy hands will do.

@Joshi, great! It'll be fun to see what you'll do.

If I get the time, I will create a completely new pair of hands with chain mail. I will also rig it to make animating it easy. Only time will tell if I get free time though.

I can animate weapons if you need that kind of thing. I just need the hands rigged and the weapon model. They don't have to be together either.

Thanks,
Akanto

Hmm... I can make objects but lack textures... would love to make some landscapes for this I have 3DWS any tips? Sizes? Lighting? heightmaps? I can take the heightmaps and export the maps for you glad to di that and render the lighting for it all in high quality...

Would like to make barrells and boxes but again lack textures... no money tk buy genetica at the moment J plan to use that for my texture creation...

Hope I can contribute to this one...

EDIT

OOOO forgot to add.. LOVE THE GUNS¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ and the fruit basket¡¡¡

Since bond1 has made his Fantasy Hand rigs available for non-commercial projects, it would be a much better idea to rig the flintlock weapons to those.

Especially because his hand rigs can (appropriately recoloured) easily stand in for Western or Pirate themes.

I'll get some stuff in...

...Before I start, will the pack have a commercial or non-commercial licence?

Because I need to know which modelling program to use. I want to use 3DS Max, but if it's commercial I'll have to use something else...

Some stuff we need for this pack is potions, manas and stuff. The mana should be like the ones from Hexen. They are black cubes with a symbol on each side, which is coloured in blue or green.

Also, weapons based on the Hexen ones as well. Here's how the sprites of those weapons look like:

i can do the blender-models of some of them (spiked mace, axe, hammer, probably the sword), but i havent learned to texture nor to rig, has to be done by someone else. i have a totally free weeekend, so i will see what can be done. i will try to do it really lowpoly and bonerig them on a single firespot (thats what i am able to do with bones^^). need practice anywhere and its time to give some things back to you all.

Hmm, now I've gotta think of something to contribute
Is this just models, or can we include scripts etc?

@maho76
You could use the HeXen: Edge of Chaos models as a base, but I'm unsure if you'd be allowed to.

i will do my own, so thats not the problem. big ugly mighty awesome butcher-toys to hack with

i think i would have more problems to load the other models than to do some new stuff, as said i am new to the 3d-tech-thinking.
but thank you for the hint.

It's a lot like rigging a weapon, but considerably more annoying, you start by rigging the entire mesh to the main bone in the skeleton (so you don't leave any vertexes behind) then rig the appopriate parts of the character to the bones (which are given names like neck, forearm, clavicle etc). I've found it is more trial and error until the character can animate with no ugly deformations.

I apologise if the latter is a load of useless rubbish.

Here are the weapon-models for big mighty axe and spiked club/morningstar. additional some hammers, but they are not that interesting. i decided to do axe and mace for fpsc, i will upload the hammers for free use here if someone is interested.

Have to do some work on the blade and then cleanup, but they have a nice shape for playerweapon (pic below), also in autoreducing verts by blender. i will do one-handed versions (2-handed atm) and also some animations but without handrig, i cant do that atm, same as uvmapping. anyone interest to rig and uvmap? i can do the texturing after that again.
please tell me what i can improve and else, wishes a.s.o.

I've started work on the gauntlet arms (as I've learned the hand piece is called). Might take me a few more weeks to finish because this is something new to me, and I am busy with a lot of other work, but It'l get done.
