I see that in some screen shots that some levels have lighting that is spcufic to a smae area, like a candle or base lights on the floor. I cannot figure this out. I can't figure out how to turn the lights off that are in the level automatically, i mean the general lighting that makes all the areas able to be seen when created. I want to turne these off and add lights that are in a small area that they light.

Also, I see you all taking about scripts in fps creator. I love to dabble in coding, i just havn't figured out where i can find places that will let me write the scripts

any help is apperceted

P.S. is there a spell checker that i can use for this, i am sure i have many typos

Firstly, try using the < and > keys to change the ambient brightness whilst you are in a test game.

The lighting I think you mean is actually part of a shader, and so can be disabled by disabling shader effects in the preferences menu.

Ok, thanks for the inof you all, I have been using these techniques for 3 day, everytime i test the level in the editor, the lights are all on bright, I do change this with the > < key. Does that make it dim the lights on the final projects, or just the test level. If so, is there a way to just turn off all ambiance light of and just use a bunch of spatial lights, to drive the player in a certain way around the scene/level.

you can do this with a simple script placed in a triggerzone under the startmarker (or anywhere else where you want to change ambient):
