So I have created my first weapon in blender, that I want to start trying to animate soon. And now my question is does the weapon need to be a "whole" mesh that is connected or can it be many seperate pieces as long as its grouped together?

Thanks for any answers I will attach pics of my WIP M320, comment and crit's are welcome

EDIT: Forgot to actully attach the picture, it has been fixed now
EDIT: It's in JPG now so you can view it, sorry about that...

you can have floating pieces as long as they are all in one mesh object or parented to each other as an object with limbs.

For a first weapon that thing looks awsome, and would even if it wasn't a first weapon I would love to see it textured!

Thanks I am going to get the basic flow of creating weapons in first, then I will start learning how to animate and texture. Hoping that one day I might be able to sell my stuff or use it my own projects

EDIT: Attached a new picture, only difference is that I have given it a new iron sight.

Are you SURE that's your FIRST weapon? Cause that's just as good as something I would do now Much much better than my first weapon. Amazing job bro.

EDIT: Forgot to mention: I've been modeling weapons for over 2 years now.

Yes, its my first weapon in blender. That dosent mean I havent used blender before I haven't created anything of this quality before though, but still I feel that its not good enough.
