I am trying to design a desktop Icon. after the software being compiled using DBpro IDE, the icon image looses much of its resolution making it looks unprofessional.

formats used ".bmp", ".ico"

icon image size: 64x64

software used: pro motion which is sold at DBpro website. (actually I purchased this software because it can use .ico format).

thanks for any advice.

Do your icon up in any image editor, save it as a PNG, then use the free program Format Factory to convert it to an icon

A 64 pixel by 64 pixel image doesn't really have much resolution.
If you're noticing a low quality image, perhaps it is when Windows is using a large icon, which you're not supplying.
Win 7 can use up to 256x256.
Check it out here:

Otherwise I think the reason you're not getting much response is because no one shares your experience. So I took a guess at what you might be having an issue with.

Hope it helps.

still doesn't work, my problem is not the icon design, it the change in the icon image resolution at compile time.

please see the attached file.
