I went onto microsoft's download site and got the web installer for directx 9.0c. I try to install it on my laptop it gives an error and says refer to a directx.log file. What should I do to install directx 9.0c on Windows Vista x86?

Let's not leak our hard work.

Thats not a problem I've had before.

What does the log say? does it give u reasons for why it failed (I'd guess maybe it's admin rights or perhaps a corrupted download)

I would perhaps try downloading and installing the DX Web installer again, making sure that you are logged in as or running the program as an Administrator.

Hope that helps.

Alright I have turned my UAC (User Account Control) off and ran the dx9 installer from the dgs dvd as an administrator and It installed. The web installer still has problems though. I have directx9 and all is good. Thanks for both of your help.

@DarkDISCUSSION:
I'm pretty sure having the UAC off is one of the prerequisites of installing DBP on Vista/Win7. But I'm glad you've got the problem sorted.

@MrValentine:
Sounds like a plan hehe
