Have a view questions about 3D Dark Basic Professional game coding:

1. Can I code 3D Side-By-Side games?
2. Can I code nVidia 3D Vision games?

Yes to both questions. To get nvidia 3d to work on your game you have to set vsync to 1

SET DISPLAY MODE Width, Height, Depth, VSyncOn

using that nvidia will use direct x info to make a 2nd camera and turn a regular game into a stereoscopic game.

You could also make two cameras yourself in the game and put them both on the screen at the same time (sbs). I don't know if there is a certain format or frame rate you have in mind but there are more than enough options to do what ever you want.

If you want I can post an exe. file that will run on nVidia 3D Vision so you can see it in action?

Here is the code and exe incase someone wants to see it. Also the app(game) has to be full screen not windowed to work with nvidia 3d.

I just threw this together to test the 3d on my nvida 3d laptop. It looks great. This program will work normally on other computers.

Arrows to move around esc to exit.

for reference
ctrl+atl+delete to toggle "not rated by nvidia" words
crtl+3 and ctrl+4 to increase/decrease 3d depth
crtl7 saves configuration
ctrl 11 changes something to do with the aspect ratio

I'm sorry forgot to upload exe.
Here it is.
I tested it on my laptop.

As for sbs there are several ways of putting two cameras to the screen.
Is there a certain way you want it done. What will you be viewing it on.
I ask because I am making a stereoscopic clip maker but don't use sbs until after I make the clips. So I get full aspect ratio and resolution.
SBS would be half resolution in one direction or reduced picture size.

I guess my question is what is the sbs for a certain monitor? Describe your end user. A game for a certain gaming system. Or a game that can be used by several 3d systems?

There is also support for 1Z3d and Anaglyph with this command

SET CAMERAS TO STEREOSCOPIC Stereoscopic Mode, Camera Left, Camera Right, Image Back, Image Front

Give me some time and I will post some sbs options. I am working on a stereoscopic clips maker (for videos production) right now.

Are you looking at supporting just nvidia?

edit to add
SET CAMERA VIEW 0, 1, 1, 800, 900
SET CAMERA VIEW 1, 800, 1, 1600, 900

I used this when I made a little SBS scene. I think I must have synced twice once for each camera to separate bitmaps(or reused the same). One camera is offset in the x axis by 10 and that gives a good stereo effect. If I find the code I will put it up.
