That is pretty accurate, Brian. Nice work. Now perhaps you can make one showing how many are completed vs how many actually die off.

The yellow part and it might even be too big of a slice would be those completed and the rest died off.

BTW, slayer, I live in area 51 and I haven't seen you there.

He doesn't work there. He's an alien. If you worked there you would know that.

Unfortunately I'm not one of the MIB so I am not able to identify those who have taken on a human identity. Also, that's why I haven't probably seen him as I'm not allowed to see the aliens. Of course there are no aliens! BTW, I work in admin, pretty dull for being in area 51 isn't it?

Yea, darimc, that just might be fairly accurate. I have completed a couple of educational games and my major one (time traveler) has been on hold but I'm trying to get back to it.

To add to Xplosys Pie chart: There should be a large section for Modern Warfare games. I see that as one of the most common genres.

Slayer, why do you even want to know? It doesn't affect anything because 99.9% of the games aren't finished to begin with.

you should do what you wanna do because thats what you will do good, not what is not that common in markets AT THE MOMENT (dont forget that you need more than a year to basically develop more than a demo. who knows whats common in a year?)

you are not a delivery-designer (as i am in real life ), you can be a creator wich is a totally different thing.

you can do a really great modern warfare- or zombie-style game if you add something special/personal to it or out of it, even its a good style-idea or a good story. a background is only a background, and you can divide all fps-games (not only fpsc) into only 5 categories: horror, modern, scifi, fantasy and history. there is nothing more. choose one and get something special out of it.

as said so many times before: it doesnt depend on the engine, background or techniques to develop something special. it only depends on your imagination and your will to a doable adaptation within your boundaries ... wich are not defined but moving when you are moving.

OK add this to the OTHER games..
after getting FPS creator this last Oct 20ish, I have spend months reading and testing almost every thing i have read in the threads here and what web site links that are still up and made a game. It would not have been possible with out great FPS sites and help from people like NorthernFox and his web site, and Flatlander's tools and Ched80 and his friends.

Yes it is not to the calabure you all make This I am sure, but if you would care to take a look and send advice my way that would be great. it is at

My first piece of advice would be to use another service to host your game. Having to jump through hoops to download something and constantly being nagged to upgrade to a paid account is annoying.

http://thraxocorp.webs.com/ Visit my totally awesome website: Thraxocorp. It's my own company and I'm totes the CEO.

It doesn't matter. 99% of FPSC games never finish. So there really is no 'most common FPSC game' per se. Make whatever the hell you want. Whatever interests you most, is what will be your best game.

lol my games always fall into the red! I probably have over 100 abandoned projects. but right now, I'm working on a WWII'ish/ Scifi'ish/ zombie'ish/ action'ish! it'll be awesome if I don't abandon that one!

I'd have to say........ The Game Creators can make dreams come true.

Easy, you start the game in an old WWII style mansion, and in the middle of the game your in a secret scifi base within the mansion.

I'd have to say........ The Game Creators can make dreams come true.
