I'd never heard of Murmuration... Take a look at the following video. If your short on time, skip to 45sec mark, that's where things begin to get really interesting.



Now I'm curious how one might go about simulating something like this. I'm not looking for an exact scientific model,, but I think something close would make for an interesting particle effect. Here's some basic info of what is happening.

That's amazing. Thanks for sharing.

would surely make an awesome particle effect.

I reackon you'd need use multiple sine waves interfering in a 3d space,(the maths that represents it) and use different trippy phase interations.

long story short something like this but 3d, randomly switching frequencies and patterns governing the particals movement

*warning turn speakers down low*

@Kezzla, Interesting... I'll have to look into that, and see if I can obtain similar effects. I'm not great at 3d maths,, but I guess now is the time to see if I can pull something off. Appreciate the response and the link you provide.
