Hi,

Is there anything out there like a crash course or tutorials site for DBP? I had tried to understand collisions since I first joined here and haven't had much luck and was hoping there to be an in depth tutorial on how to set up collisions with indoor maps made with maplet

Thanks a bunch!

[edit]I have a copy of 3ds Max 9, would it help if I used it instead? [/edit]

I am sure someone will post up a Sparky Collision tutorial or something; but what is it about the tutorial that comes with the DLL that you are stuck on?

Do you mean the built in ODE system?

@MrValentine: Speaking of ODE, is there a command ref on that stuff? Or do the original ODE docs cover this? But to answer your question, I was actually talking about BRL's map editor. http://www.blitzbasic.com/Products/maplet.php

@MODs: I probably shouldn't had linked to there but as you see I really hadn't any other option. Hope that wouldn't cause too much of a fuss.

@Chris Tate:
Do you mean the MilkShape loader issue I had posted a while ago? I couldn't load any .ms3d meshes else it says "DarkBasic Pro Application.exe has stoppen working". Or are you referring to the problem when I was trying load up another format mesh? Sorry, I haven't the slightest clue what you are talking about.
My sincere apologies for not understanding your question.

ODE had the documentation online a long time ago. If I remember correctly the docs were moved over to their wiki.

No worries, I probably misunderstood your post; I thought you where struggling with collision programming:

But you mean the actual Maplet files.

No, I export the map to X format the map loads up but the camera like refuses to stay in the room I had created. With collisions set the camera stops before it gets in the map. I'll edit this post with an example in a few minutes.

Did you use SET OBJECT COLLISION TO POLYGONS? Maybe the camera is colliding with a sphere collision sphere.
