Lately I've been kicking around the idea of picking up FPSC again, but I can't seem to get an original idea going in my head. So far I have a couple basic outlines for a potential premise...

Action/Comedy- The protagonist will likely embody a Duke Nukem/Frank West-type persona. The story will obviously be bare bones, and focus on his exploits as he shoots and clobbers his way to the end of the game. Locker room dialogue, and crude humor galore. This game will make use of most of the Model Packs/free media scattered across the FPSC universe. The only question is, who's gonna make the strippers for our hero to throw money at?

Psychological Horror- The protagonist will likely embody an "everyman" type role. An everyday joe. The story will likely focus on the protagonist and whatever mental disorders/personal demons I decide to give him. And no, it won't be the usual "Oh no, I killed someone and forgot about it!" motif(Im pointing the finger at you, Silent Hill series). Combat will probably take a back seat in this game, similar to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I want story and "WTF Moments" to be the star of this one...

So those are the main ideas I've been torn between. Tell me what you folks woud rather see...

My honest opinion, stick with the first one. FPSC has way to many horror game, now don't get me wrong, i love horror games! Just there are way to many of them. The first one sounds really good actually, and FPSC needs more comedy! I was thinking of adding some comedy to mine but im not very humorous :/

That is what i would like to see

Well, I guess that's one for Comedy. And yes FPSC has waaaaaay too many horror games(as much as I love them to death)...

EDIT: Make that two

Since there wouldn't be as much need for huge scripted moments, the comedy one would definitely be easier to pull off in FPSC.
Though, if you could pull it off well, then the horror one sounds fine.

But I'm more for comedy!

@TriSpefear Studios- Your absolutely right, lol...

And that's three for Comedy and I guess... One for Horror?

P.S.- How does this sound for a Comedy title? "The Adventures Of Captain Flaminfart"

Seems a bit too immature for its own good. Something like Duke Nukem or Serious Sam was clever and funny in its on way, but the "Flaminfart" really pushes the comedy too far into the generic gradeschool zone.

While potty-mouth humor might be on the rage, I don't think you have to be so extreme about it. Cleverly thought out jokes and
weird character trait combinations could make the game, without dropping the F bomb around every corner and getting kicks off
cheap middle-school humor. That's just the way I see it though.

Lighten up ASTEK.
Chris has asked for idea's not for put down's.
He's trying to do something different here (even if it is an old school conception).
I LIKE OLD SCHOOL - It's where game origins lie.

Good luck Chris

It wasn't a put down. I'm simply saying that you can make a funny game without copying Duke Nukem. One can be funny and witty, without being crude.
All I'm saying is that I don't agree with such an approach. This forum is open for discussion and I'm just stating a lighter approach to the
comedy genre that has barely seen itself on FPSC.

While total crudeness was in fact what I was aiming for, I suppose I should really play my cards right. That's the biggest challenge with being funny. Too much or too little could totally kill the game. So staying "middle-ground" with the humor might be something to keep in mind. We'll see. As for the protagonist, I stated earlier that Duke Nukem and Frank West are among the biggest inspirations for the character. I do like Ross tra damus' idea of possibly having the protagonist be female(another first for FPSC?)though. Other inspirations include video game heros such as Chris Redfield(of course!), and Marcus Fenix(not too sure about Marcus though...). And real life actors, such as Charlie Sheen and Jim Carrey. Wait a minute... Charlie Carrey? Or maybe Jim Sheen?

P.S.- I'm also considering nudity(Strip Clubs, perhaps?). Heck, you guys should see the freaking billboards Calkins88 just made for me...

EDIT: Lately, I've been kicking around the idea of giving Charlie a sidekick or two. Believe it or not, I was looking at The Cosmic Prophet's avatar the other day and went: "What if the man in the hat was a character himself?"

Where in the world is Charlie Ruckus?
