I guess this could go into a different category on the forums, but I was wondering if there is anyone that knows a good 3D animation software that works well with dbpro? I have tried autodesk 3DS but a lot of times texture and some animation functions will not work with the 3D model (using dbpro). Thank you a lot for your help!

Does that stand for bone (skinned mesh, vertex animation, you know...) animation as well? Because i haven't had much luck with that so far, although some people just keep saying that should work too.

-Mental Hybrid: A unique heavy story based shoot'em ~40% (primary project)
-CoreFleet: An underground commander unit based RTS (canned) ~15%

you can use modelprop.... but it still is in beta stages.

(It was designed for low vertex count editting mainly but does mesh limb linking and animations)

Hi there.... Yes Quel and the rest of friends as Brendy boy says, 3DMax and panda exporter works perfect, but we have to export to .x and not .3ds .I have used long ago and I think that is even veter than Milkshape or any other. As all of you sure know, 3DMax is a proffesional program instead off the programs just made for games...and Pandasoft made a good plugin that give to 3DMax the ability of exporting single animated x mesh.

Cheers.

Blender is quite professional these days and supports all of the above.
Plus it is free.... 3DSMax is ridiculously priced.

The thing is I get all of the autodesk software for free sense I am mentoring for my old high schools frc robotics team (just a year ago I was a student). But blender is a very good software to use... I just didn't spend time working with it.

Truespace is free now and is my modeller of choice. (But I prefer a really old version!)

You can export animated models for DBPRO using Blender as mentioned. Just enable the exporter in the latest version of Blender using the user preferences.

Note this point by SIDS and consider my guide for exporting Blender models for the engine.

I have recently made the effort to learn Python so maybe in the near future I make some extra features in Blender for DBPRO.
