Hey guys,

I just had a quick question about transferring weapon and character models from other engines to FPSC and vice-versa (like using an FPSC model in UDK and using a UDK model in FPSC). If anyone could help me out or give me a tutorial i would appreciate it.

Thanks

Well the only way I've seen it done is to open the UDK base male skeleton in 3d studio max (if someone has the rigs in other formats other than max I would be very grateful as well), delete the male mesh and import your character. Scale it, pose it, rig it, etc. and export it using actor x plugin. A static entity can simply be exported as an .ase or fbx model and imported into udk.

Have you made a character for udk before? It can be tricky but once you do it once you will never forget. Let me know if you need help I've gotten pretty good at using the default animations, skeleton, etc.

Also make sure you have rights to use the models in other engines.

Thanks for the advice.

I have mostly created weapons for UDK and im pretty good at it, so thats why i was wondering how to export it into .x format for FPSC. Also most of the TGC model packs have rights to freely use them, so im guessing you can use them in other engines.
