To everyone:
I see a lot of great work out for free throughout the forums. This community is full of talent, so cheers to all. I have only one issue and that is that many of these releases do not have licenses.
Why you should ALWAYS include a license:
1)You can be sued for ridiculous reasons. I will not go into specifics so people don't get any ideas, but it is possible.
2)There can be confusions about how you products/dlc can be used.
3)You must protect your rights as the creator of the content.
4)You must have a way of giving credit to anyone or anything that applies.
What your license should include:
1)Denial of resposibility for damages caused by or related to your content.
2)A statement clearly labeling the content as acceptable for commercial and or non-commercial use.
3)A statement saying that you retain your rights to the content as the author of it. When there is more than one author or it is modified from someone else's work, you must also state that they retain their rights. You could put something like "all parties retain their rights as authors of this content."
4)State who you have to give credit to. You don't have to state every program you used like "I wrote this using my Dell Inspiron etc, etc." But you should give credit to the important ones and any legal parties, i.e. any real people or groups of people that are responsible for your success.
Not much else to say, keep up the good work.
