I need help making a hotel. I am planning on making a horror game based in a hotel, taking advantage of the repetitive and long hotel hallways to strike horror into the hearts of many.
I find that my lobby looks empty and I'm trying to figure out how to leave open space without the map seeming empty. Because hotels are fairly simple and open in reality.

as far as i remember jack first and only wanna kill his wife.

but beside the fun, really: watch THE SHINING (Pegi 15 i think), i think it is exactly what you are searching for inspiration. lobby, bar, maze, rooms, hallways, isolation, intensity...
but watch out, as far as i remember there is a remake.
take the one with jack, the newer one sucks.

maids carts, trays of left over room service, dead hookers, vending machines, living hookers, blonde with leather chaps and tattoos bright red licp stick, oh I m sorry, hotel right. moving on, fire extingusher, many hotel hallways have sconce typ lighting, almost everytime you get off an elevator at a hotel there is a little area with a table(great place to hide a key or similar item) and maybe a house phone or plant, generic wall art which would be easy to do in Gimp, you'll also notice that in hotels the elevators are like a focal point of the construction and the stairwells are often off to the side maybe in a small nook, like wher ethe vending machines are, or ot the end of a hallway. Maybe a dead maid, blonde in a black lacy maid's uniform, bright red lipstick, and tattoos, super high heels, I have to go find my wife. Hope this helps.

Check out some of the media that Willow has created, some of it would be perfect for a hotel...
