Would it be possible to start a newcomers board like we have for DBPro?

I would be happy to regularly contribute and we could host a tutorials thread to help get programmers of all levels started!

Cheers!

There's also a lot of general game programming questions here and on the DBP board, which could be answered in one place and benefit a wider audience. I'm not sure how that would be handled (I should have come up with a solution before presenting the problem!)

In regards to the general game programming bit a general catch all 'concept' section might be a nice idea. Something where the concepts of programming itself is whats being discussed and could support multiple languages easily such as AppGameKit, DBP , GDK etc.

As for a Newcomers Board, a section like the DBP one would be welcomed. I know I'd certainly try my best to help out in there and even ask a few questions myself no doubt.

Off topic @BatVink: Any news on when the next newsletter hits the interweb? I look forward to reading it every month.

So a bit like the Game Design board except code oriented?

I think an AppGameKit newcomers board is an excellent idea and I'd frequent it.

A general programming board is a good idea but it the DBPro newcomers board works because it's product specific and people with knowledge of the language who want to help go there to point people in the right direction.

I think a general thread / board would be frequented less than a product specific one but that's just my opinion and I have been known to be wrong occasionally
