Let me set the guitar down...

K, now, I made a skybox and it sucks Okay, first of all, the light gets darker as it does down, I want my texture to be the texture, no lights to make certain parts darker.

Secondly, can I make seperate textures for each part of the skybox? I don't want one sucky texture, but many.

Thanks everyone for your help

to get rif of that awful shadow use:

to make use of many textures you should make a box in a modeling package and flip all the polys and then texture them each with a different file

Hallo, Mussi. Hoe gaat het met je?

Anyway, how do I flip the polys, what would the command be called? (I am not a 3d modeller).

depends on the program... in 3ds Max 5 you have to select the object... go to the "Modify" tab... under the "Modifier List" select "Normal"... there are two options 'Unify Normals' and 'Flip Normals', check the "Flip Normals" box... and done, polys fliped!

@Inkybro

Dude, we discussed how to use Wings3D to do this ages ago. Just scale the cube inside out!

You can also use SET OBJECT EMISSIVE to set an object's color regardless of light on it. Eg if you use SET OBJECT EMISSIVE obj,RGB(255,0,0) it will appear bright red even if all the lights in the scene and ambient light are turned off.

RobK made perfect sense. If you dont want your object to change color, just set its emissive to a blue (find out what blue your skybox texture is) and set it to that.

In DBP just SET OBJECT CULL skybox,0 to view inside out polies.

To apply different textures you need to UV Map the object.
