Hi , i have an idea to make a program which can log info from either an image file or an open window from another program .
i dont even know if the later is possible , but deciphering what text is on a jpeg or bitmap should be .
Its actualy for a tool to use with a mining game i play where i want to log coords of claims and depth ect and then display the data in a neat way , like a 3d map or graph for later analysis . So ideally a program with a translucent dbpro window which can see the pixels of anything behind the window in real time (or something?) , failing that it could read from a screen shot saved to file.
i have some idea of how , program has tempates of alphabet and numbers in the correct font and checks a certain area of the image for certain colored pixels which are in a similar block to the template , beyond that im stuck. the data manipulation and display stuff will be the easy bit , could anyone shed some light or point me to any similar things , searches have been fruitless . Thanks for any pointers.
