Hi all. I used to use a program called Game Maker by Yo Yo Games. I stopped in the middle of a huge WWII Eastern Front Project. I have lots of leftover sprites, if anyone is interested talk to me at nforsyth20@yahoo.com for more. Attached is my canvas, so to speak. It is where my creations started as I tried to draw them to scale using Microsoft Paint. Its a BMP file, I have a whole mess of PNGs as that is Game Maker's format. If you are working on a 2D WWII game talk to. Maybe we could make something together.

Wow! I never really check the 2D art forum, but the title of this thread attracted me somehow!

I JUST might know where I could use these, and some additional ones, if you could make them.

I AM interested in your sprites mate! I like the way they look and feel. How about we get on MSN or Skype(whichever other one you prefer) and discuss some information for a bit?

Attached is an image of the new sprites I am working on, still early in the making. U.S. Army sprites in this image. Comments and criticism please.

What I am planning:
*Many more sprites featuring the many soldiers and vehicles of as many WWII nations as I can.
*Finish existing and new sprites by adding more angles and animations to make more usable in game ceation.
*Add scenic items
*Create scenery for WWII Battlefields

This project is no longer going to only be Eastern Front sprites. As you can see, I am now working on U.S. Army Sprites. I am also currently started on making Japanese and Marine sprites. While I won't make any promises, I do plan on making sprites for plenty of other nations and battle fronts.

Edit:

Just a start meant to show you what I'm working on.

Still making more weapons, but this is what I have so far.

Edit: Japanese Infantry coming along well

Edit: A New video Preview of the pack.

Sorry about the delay in posting. My laptop crashed, so I've been offline for a while. I thought I had all of my work backed up, but the images I had on photobucket are not exactly diminished in quality, but they're different enough from the originals that I can no longer work with them. However, I do have the originals on a flash drive and I pulled them up and they are fine. The only things I lost are the Thompson, Type 100, U.S. Infantry, and Japanese Infantry.

Update: I am remaking the lost sprites, which won't be too hard. I am going to also change the boots on the Nazi and Soviet Infantry to show the full boot, I think what I have right now is unrealistic so I'll post once I have redone them.

Edit: On second thought, should I change the boots? Anyone got any input. By the way, recovery of the lost sprites is going well.

Good news, I remade and edited the guns. I added more detail to add to the realism

Edit: Wrong photo
Edit #2: I fixed it, finally.

Latest Updates. German uniform for this soldier has been improved.

Oops, this one was supposed to be miniature too. On second thought, though, these look a little too small. Any thoughts or am I just talking to myself. Only Abdul has showed interest in these.

I used to make these sorts of sprites by hand, and later in Poser. Poser teaches you the difference that shading is important on small sprites. The legs in your animations will merge, and the soldiers will slide along the floor. What you need is the bright edges on the legs where the light hits them, and the dark shadows where light doesn't fall. Then you get rounder legs, and less chance of the animations merging into skateboard walking.
