This is going to sound odd, but I have a question on the bundle that is available (FPSC, 9 model packs).

I used to have FPS on my machine, but with moving cross country in the last year AND having my old PC die, I had to re-download the free version. And I looked on the download page, but all that is there from my previous order history are model packs 17 and 18, so I have to re-purchase FPSC. No big deal - the money won't set me back any.

So I look at the products page, and I see this bundle. $30 for FPSC and 9 model packs? Sign me up! Just one problem, and it's one that I'm not really keen on.

I can pay for the items with a credit card. I was just under the impression that I'd be able to download the entire thing, but it's asking for my mailing address. wtf? Is this stuff going to be mailed to me?

I would prefer to download everything. Does anybody here know why this would need to be mailed to me?

And one more item to add to this:

I create a small test map, and attempt to both test the level AND see a quick preview. Both times I get an error about debugging, and FPSC ab-ends. Any ideas why?

Hi Leon,
Only the boxed version of FPSC is mailed to you. You should be sent links for all the model packs to download.
Concerning your build problem: have you updated FPSC to the latest version? FPSC is at v118 at the.moment and your bug may have been fixed in the update. I do know that the preview level button has been removed now.

Welcome back, by the way.

Leon,

The only thing that will be mailed to you is FPS Creator. You will have to download the model packs by going to the "My Products" section of your TGC account. You can then download them from there. You can also download FPS Creator if you don't want to wait for it to come in the mail.

Your Error:
I think Ched is right, It's probably because your not using the latest version of FPSC. They removed the "preview level" button in v1.18 so if you are not using the latest version you can upgrade here,

I updated this morning to the latest version of FPSC, and now I cannot run it. I get the errors that you'll see in the attached image file.

Now, when I installed FPSC yesterday, I changed the name of the folder to be FPS Creator, and not FPS Creator Free. When I updated this morning, it generated a new folder called FPS Creator Free, with a new executable file for FPSC. Could it be that I have to uninstall the whole shot, reinstall and not rename the folder, and then update? If so, will I still be able re-download model packs 17 & 18 (which I paid for a long time ago and downloaded again yesterday but like an idiot deleted them after installing)?

Uninstall/reinstall, to include checking for updates AND not renaming folders, and that did the trick. Got a weird error (something about an unknown parameter) upon first blush, but closed and then restarted and it works.

Was also able to re-download the 2 model packs, so it seems everything is working fine.

UPDATE: Just purchased the bundle, and now I have to wait for it to be approved. WTF? Paid by credit card, so this shouldn't be an issue. But to have to wait for 24 hours before I can download the stuff? That is beyond retarded.

Leon: good things come to those who wait. TGC are pretty good at authorising orders in the week would be surprised if you had to wait 24 hrs. While you're waiting you could read up on all the new features: water, dark AI, post processes effects, etc. There's a lot to take in.

Leon,
I understand your frustration with waiting. After all, most digital products can be downloaded as soon as the purchase goes through. It is just one of those things, you gotta deal with. It is worth it though.

I understand you were a previous user of fpsc, but you should really spend some time getting yourself up to date with whats new.

The community guide has a load of information to get you up to speed.

Since the last time you used fpsc there have also been a number of new 3rd party apps created. All of the new stuff can be found here.

And Here Is A Penguin:

Forgot to update everyone:

Purchase went through, and I downloaded everything. And now I'm waiting on my purchase for model packs 35, 41, and 54. Especially 54.

@that guy john: thanks for the info. I plan on reading through the community guide. I read it a couple years ago, but with being away for so long I have to read it again.

As far as 3rd party apps - I've already gone out and downloaded FPI EditPad. Remember this from back in the day, and it's a great tool. Now I just have to remember which app I used to create signs and huds...
