Hello all,

is it possible to load a fpsc map/scene into a 3D modeler?
or convert it to a 3D model format ?

Cheers!

Once you build your game all the static objects are used to make a 3d model for the physics engine, so that should be somewhere...

Not quite sure where though, and it won't be textured...

Oh wait, there would be one for the 3d level aswell?

thanks found it, but it isn't textured. so quite useless... how can I import it so it has textures?

Edit: No where on the whole internet is a possible / useful solution for this, just to convert one tiny, simple freaking file... to a .x format or at least do a import (textured) I'm so irritated right now. that the first person on this very same moment who is even looking to me is going to be killed in a way nobody can imagine. and even demons will be scared

hi bio and jrh,

you just didnt ask for what you want to get that levelinfo.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=193073&b=23

http://90.91.233.72.static.reverse.ltdomains.com/?m=forum_view&t=193611&b=21

there are 2 other discussions about this problem, maybe you can find the trick there.
textures: all textures used in your game are combined into 1 file. could be that you can assign this as texture for the universe.x, but i dont know how.

i come only to the point seeing vertices in fragmotion, even not faces, far from textured^^ can you explain how you got the models to run with faces? would be enough for me to go on with what i wanted to do.

I know about that one, but I'm using UU3D (ultimate unwrap 3D) with that it will show the whole model (very high detailed) by just importing it, and I don't have a universe.x but universe.dbo (where do I get the universe.x then? )

EDIT: I probably have the freaking solution A part had been assigned with a texture, I analyzed all the material files... and it's working now

cheers

you welcome, please note that you will need to download the free DBO extension loader on the UU3D website it really helps, and assigns all the textures and surfaces

So what your saying is use UU3d to load the .dbo file and it should recognize all the textures? Let's say I then save the whole level and import it into 3ds max for some edits. How can I get the map back into the game? Because I want to keep physics and such for the AI.

what do you mean with that soviet ? then you don't need to convert

to use it later:

1) open with UU3D using DBO loader,
2) modify
3) save to DBO again
4 Yaay use, but first place in right dirs

Just experimented with this and it's ridiculously easy.

The one tip no one posted when converting a level in Fragmotion is this:

Copy the Universe.dbo file to the FPSC root folder.

Load it and wait a few moments for the model to load, then export to the desired format in the same folder. From there, import it into the desired modeling app and go from there. Should work flawlessly.

An added plus is that if you don't mind typing out the Lord's Prayer once a week, Fragmotion is free.

It compiled! Ship it!
