Is anyone here going to see Linkin Park at Wembly Arena while their on tour over here? (Here being England/Britian/Blair Land - whatever you want to call it). I am and I'm really looking forward to it (so no knocks on them being crap/losers/sell outs).

Is it in the UK? I have a friend who is

A) Obsessed with England
B) Obsessed with LP

So they would be in Heaven

I on the other hand, like Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, New Found Glory, but LP is ok

I prefer 80's and 60's music, hate modern stuff.

Ach, Rammstein kicks the crap out of Linkin Park any day of the week, but I do like "My December". I'm surprised people actually admit to liking Blink 182. I, myself, hate that want-to-be punk-pop crap. Sad to say but there hasn't been some decent new bands around for quite some time now.

Yeah but Rammstein (I meantion the war once but I think I got away with it, sorry too many falty towers re runs) sing in German so the average non german speaker can't sing along.

While Linkin Park sing in English so I know what they're shouting and screamin about.

Rammstein haven't done anything new in years though, and you can hardly pit an Industrial Metal band against a HipHop Rock band ... i mean Linkin Park vs Limp Bizkit, or vs Papa Roach then yeah, but vs Rammstein your out of your teeny tiney mind

And if you like My December (which is weird cause its one of thier softest ballards) then you'd probably like High Voltage.
It's more of a chillout with Cyprus Hill (if i remember right), but its definately got an edge on it as sharp as a katana

and without a doubt Yoko Kanno beats all ... that guy is a wizard with a beat, and he isn't limited by genre's seen him work his magic in every area of music. from Rock, Euro Classical, Jap Classic, Russian Folk and Indian Bangra

the guy is just a pure genius

*shudders* oooh god , I know I should avoid this topic but I JUST can't help it hahaha

DISCLAIMER
the following is nothing more then the humble opinion of the author of this post. ....hehehe

Linkin Park - not very fond of them
Limp Bizkit - ewwwww cant stand them, they suck so bad
Blink 182 - ...lol
Rammstein - they are ok but I couldn't listen to em for more then 30 minutes.
Britney Spears - The reason there is a MUTE button on the TV controller

now for the good metal stuff:

Nevermore
Helloween
Iced Earth
Children of Bodom
Sanctuary
Judas Priest
Slayer
Anthrax(their older stuff)
Primal Fear
Pantera

...and all the rest that can actually pull off nice guitar solo's lol

*waits in anticipation for the flames from the nu-metal lovers to start rolling in*

I saw KoRn play live a year ago, now that was a gig! - Linkin Park have got too much to say for themselves and not enough people who wanna hear it, there's far better real bands doing the same stuff. Look at the Deftones for example, fairly similar music because LP 'borrow' a lot of their style from the Deftones, yet they don't get the same coverage because they're not little schooly looking punks who pose for teeny bopper magazines and give interviews citing their favourite colour and the most embarassing thing to happen on the road.

I'm not a huge fan of Limp, but I do like Break Stuff and Eat You Alive is up my street.

The annoying thing with all these bands is the way the originators get forgotten for the next hot thing. Like if I wanna listen to progressive punk, I listen to Green Day, if I want nu-Metal I listen to KoRn, if I want guitar metal I listen to Metallica. I listen to older stuff a lot more than this new nu-metal, I feel like taking Chester Benderton to one side and asking what his problem is - is it his parents, women who've messed around on him, acne, what?!!!, at least Jonathan Davis has some legitimacy in his lyrics.

As for Papa Roach pfffft!!!!

lol... maybe i like these bands more cause i don't listen, what or follow thier off-album BS
all i give a damn about is the music, however they are in real-life doesn't matter a lick to me ... ain't my business to give a crap what worldviews these idiots have or who they're screwing this week or whatever other scandal.

my money goes to pay thier wages, all i want to hear is the music... i'm not paying for thier opinion on anything.
Hell if i went around bitching about people, and not liking music because of world views i'd hate all of Hendrix's stuff because he was a racist bastard - but what the hell does his world view have to do with the music he makes?
He never sung about it, so doesn't bother me a lick.

I watch a lot of music tv, MTV2, Kerrang, and I swear if I see that 'Darkness' video or the new 'Blink-182' video again I'll top myself. That's the annoying thing, the way they ram this stuff down our throats when all we wanna see is just 1 decent video. Nowadays I end up putting on Jackass or Dirty Sanches because of it.

I must admit, despite my better judgement I really like the Bloodhound Gang, they just crack me up - even when they're censored . I mean, you gotta appreciate lyrics like ''We can do it doggystyle so we can both watch X-Files'', or ''Mom and dad this is Chasey, Chasey this is my mom and dad. Now show 'em them titties''.

Hey the Darkness are pretty good! You've just gotta remeber not to take them seriously, I did that the first couple of times I heard "Growing on me" but after that I learned to love them!

the darkness remind me of queen god knows why

No Use for a Name : Smoking Mirror was a bloody good track, but i'd hardly call any of them Punk ... jebus i've not heard a punk band in like a decade, unless your meaning the new meaning to punk. As in you got dressed in the dark, of someone elses closet

punk always has had a single criteria, atleast to me it has.
thats to basically have neolithically violent lyrics - oftenly about hurting someone, yourself, about everything being crap and you want out ... but in a pissed off kind of way, not a Celine Dion kind of Ballard lol

Can you imagine that Celine Dion the punk biatch from hell

yea i know what you mean when you say the new meaning to punk...but have you heard the old Misfits? pure punk. They were one of the first actually...they formed in 1977. The only thing different about them was that they didn't sing about the normal "anarchy" BS that most punk bands did...they wrote songs about horror films and played only on halloween totally original
