TGC has the AppGameKit for making apps, but I don't have $100 right now to buy it. My question is this, could you possibly code a game in DBPro, and make it useable for android/iphones?

You should look at AppGameKit instead really, program in BASIC or C++, and deploy to several mobile devices. Check the AppGameKit sections on the forum, lots of people are already releasing apps made with AGK.

Dark Basic Pro is Direct X 9.0 based. It'll only develop for Windows OS and excludes Windows Mobile. Given how it's Direct X based, TGC are pretty limited on platform use.

App Game Kit on the other hand is Open GL based and is designed to work multiplatform, which explains why it's the pricier of the two, plus it's a new product whilst DBP has been around for years.

Also, while it's not clear on when, TGC does plan on releasing a version of AppGameKit that produces 3D graphics, which I'm really super excited for.

You could code a game in DBPro, then purchase AppGameKit and, with a few minor changes, run from there.

Eh, it'd actually take a LOT of retyping since AppGameKit now uses more common standards for programming (like parenthesis after calls such as sync). But yes, it could be done. It'd just take a little while.
