I'm making a new post since the other posts seem to be locked simply because they are too old, refering to this topic.

I'm using the water scripts which are pretty awesome but I do not like the fact that when the player goes under water for even a split second and surfaces you hear him gasping for air. Is there any way to turn this off? I know how to write a script so that the sound would only occur if he's been under water for a while.

I've had the same problem. Wish I could help, but I haven't had any luck. If you can figure it out, more power to you.

the sound should be located anywhere in "files/audiobank/water,character,behavior or something like this. make a safety copy and set volume to 0 in a soundeditor (remain file so fpsc doesnt cry for "cannot find file" or something like that). done.

you can reenter the sound to your game in using a script with the new playerlevel-commands of v119 in combination of timers, but dont ask me how to do

Alright I'll just replace it with an audio file that is incredibly small in file size and with no information in it (no sound).

I created a script that makes the player gasp for air if he has nearly drown and has just surfaced. Also if he surfaces after only being under water for a few seconds you simply hear the sound of something surfacing, no gasping.

Thanks maho76, its something i totally didn't consider.

I'm experiencing the same.
Thanks maho76

Sometimes you have to stop thinking too much and just go where Hollister takes you.
