when i try to run dark basic professional on my home pc it doesnt open up but the process runs in the background

Uninstall,, restart,, reinstall, update to RC 7_7. Make sure you have DirectX 9 SDK (specifically, for win7 I use version 9.20.1057 SDK (August 2007)
