I'm using several hills and trees from Green Nature (not sure any more what model pack this is) in FPSC x9, and while they show up in the map editor they do not show up when I test the level.

I thought at first that maybe they were just falling all the way to the bottom of the world, but I made sure I had ground underneath them. Then I thought they weren't showing because part of them was laid down outside the 40x40 area of the editor, so I moved them closer to the interior. Then I thought that maybe they were up higher, so i looked up and they weren't there.

Anybody know why I can see these in the editor but not when I test the game? I can walk right through where they are supposed to be, so I'm thinking now that maybe something is wrong with them in entitybank, but I'm not sure what it would be. Any suggestions?

If you have any part of the entity touch outside the build grid it will not appear in a test. Try puttin them somewhere well inside the build grid and test to see what happens, if they still don't appear be sure to chech the texture path in the entities setting menu.

They work fine for us. Here is a quick "down and dirty" look:

As Troutflies mentioned, make sure you keep away from the edge of the grid. If you look at the next image, you will notice I am 1 full segment away from the left edge and 3 segments away from the top.

We learned this using a large rock entity from another pack. If you put them in a way where one or all are touching that last outer square on the grid along the edge, they tend not to show up. It is always good practice to keep at least one full square all around the outer edge when building your outdoor scene.

I wasn't aware of not using the one square all around the border (which now gives us 39x39, but that's still plenty). I will test this and see what happens, and then I'll let you know what the results are.

We had discovered this when using model pack 11 and placing some of the rock formations on the grid. Although the base was not over the outer segment square, the top of the rock did actually overhang it. Because it was touching the rock next to it and so on, all the outer rocks were not visible. That was when I rebuilt the level and kept that one to one-and-a-half section all the way around empty. Since then, never had issues.
