Ok so I am trying to take a large body of text and split it into multiple lines, so each line has a max length of 20 characters. At the same time I need to keep individual words(separated by a space) in tact.

Example:

+ Code Snippet

The following is a block of text that should be split into multiple lines.

INTO

+ Code Snippet

The following is a
block of text that
should be split into
multiple lines

what is the best way to go about doing this?

you can use string tokenizing. look at the function I created for you:

print_line_in_multiple_lines(a$, 20)


wait key

function print_line_in_multiple_lines(text$, line_length)
    line$ = first token$(text$," ") 
    repeat 
        token$ = next token$(" ")    
        if len(line$+token$) > line_length
            print line$
            line$ = token$        
        else 
            line$ = line$+" "+token$   
         ENDIF    
    UNTIL token$ = ""
    print line$
endfunction
