it`s called Weave 3D. basically you "weave" your way around avoiding these big walls that come flying at you. the game gradually gets more and more difficult...

have a look at the screen shots and tell me what you think.

the game is basically done I'll be releasing it in a week or two.

Thanx everyone for the comments.

Wolfish King: I'm glad you liked the ship! To be honest I thought it was lind of lame, and had even tried making a few others, but they were all worse!

As for the Game, It should be released within the next 2 weeks (I know I said that last post too)

I am very impressed. It kinda reminds me of the movie "the lawnmower man" and the game on the mega drive/genesis of the same name. Very impressive work. Visit us in the irc channel and paste this link there if you want some praise.

Very nice, expecially for a first DBPro project. I really like the feel of the game, or at least how it looks. How fast does it go, actually both framerate and the speed. Are there going to be powerups and stuff?

Good Luck

The game speed is based entirely on the game loop, which means it runs at different speeds on different systems. However it currently runs at about 120 fps on my system (at sync rate 0), so I will probably bottleneck the fps down to somewhere around 50 (a frame rate most systems should be able to handle as it is a pretty simple game), and base the game speed on that figure.

Currently there are no power-ups... the game just gradually gets more and more difficult:
(1) more types of walls become available
(2) the percentage of spinning walls increases (eventually to 100%)
(3) the distance between the walls gets smaller and smaller (until a certain point).

so basically it's like Tetris, it just keeps getting harder and harder, and you try to beat your high score. but unlike tetris this is an arcade game, so the average game time is much shorter.

Looks cool.
Make sure you give it some funky, retro music: that can make or break an arcade game.

...and like that; he's gone...

Shame you didn't lock the speed on this thing, you should use the timer() or something. Apart from that, the game looks great! I like the simple ship, why change it? Can't wait for the game!

pincho: I'll have to look into the best way to lock the speed of the game... but don't worry, I'll do something to make it run similar on most systems.

thanks for the comments again everyone...

I hope to have the game released really soon (in about 1 week), I'm also working on a project for the Alien Compo (who isn't) that I'm pretty excited about. DB programming is fun!
