Okay, guys! Since Kickstarter isn't available in my home country of Australia, we've started an IndieGoGo page for Malevolence! You can pledge money to the project if you think it's cool! If you pledge, you get fun stuff! And you can use it as a way of pre-ordering the game! Fun!

Click here to visit the IndieGoGo page!

I know it seems like a lot, but it's all been budgeted out and some of the perks are very cool! And every little bit counts! For more info on the project (in case you haven't heard of it yet) click my signature image!

Hi CumQuaT,

I looks like a promising game and quite an effort for a 4-man team! You might want to consider submitting your announcement to a site like RPGWatch.com. They might want to do an interview and post regular updates etc, exposing your effort to a lot of people.

Also (but this is highly subjective), you might want to consider lowering the price of the slot that actually gets you the game once you donate. The recent 'Wasteland 2' Kickstarter gave backers the right to digital download the game after investing only $15. That's quite cheap, considering the game will be made by a team of industry vets. Asking $25 for the equivalent is a bit high imho, even though you get a signed poster. (I'd consider lowering the price and leaving the poster out).

Hey Zerotown,

When the game is released it will be $25, which is why it's in that slot and above

I'll have a look into RPGwatch though! Thanks for the tip!

You're welcome! I took the liberty of submitting details about Malevolence and your current request on IndieGoGo to RPGWatch as well, since I think it's a very promising project that definitely deserves attention. I'm not sure if they'll feature it, but one can always hope, right? (It might be a good idea to mail them yourself as well!).

As for the price-slot of your game, I understand your reasoning. The market for indie games is very large right now, but also very diverse when it comes to pricing. $25 is considered to be the top-segment of the niche, for which players often expect a very polished game. I'm not saying your price is unjust or that people won't pay that amount for it, but they might be inclined to wait for positive reviews of a finished product instead of investing in it beforehand.

Also, looking at your request on IndieGoGo, it sort of feels like there's a 'gap' between a donation of $5 and $20? (I'm not trying to criticize you and your team, but rather trying to help by pointing out some things that strike me).

No, I understand your reasons it's all good!

IndieGoGo had a limit on the number of price points we could put up, so we had to work within that, but there is also an option to contribute a custom amount, so that takes care of that one

I really do believe that Malevolence is as polished a game as one could expect for $25 given that 34 people have been working on it for over two years, and that the game is infinite (literally so) I think it's a reasonable figure we actually had that figure recommended to us by our distributors, Desura They also seemed to think it was worth it!

Indeed... Looking at the comments not many people read much! The dev blog is right there on the IndieGoGo page! Still... I'm always one for feedback. I might update a couple of things...
