Hello:

I had my system go down because of the nefarious Tuesday the 13th Microsoft Update, and had to reinstall DBPro, however when I try to activate it, it says "Unable to reach activation server."

Try running DBPro in admin mode...

And if you are on Vista or 7 then ensure you are on HOME NETWORK setting too... also allow firewall exceptions...

Should there genuinely be an issue with the authorisation server which I feel unlikely... (though there have been issues in the past...

Are you on wifi or ethernet?

Did you check network cables?

... your system specs such as OS and RAM may assist...

Hello Mr. Valentine:

I am running Vista. The firewall is disabled. I am Wi fi, there are no cables. System is a Compaq C504US laptop with 1.5GB RAM. How do I run admin mode?

Right-click on the EXE and select "run as administrator"

I had the same problem and it fixed it for me

Hello Mr. Valentine:

Although I have UAC off, running as administrator did apparently work.

uac doesn't run your things as admin, it just doesn't block naughty behavior and/or notifies you of it.
