I'd say good idea. Focus on the ones that matter and then deal with the smaller platforms afterwards.

Great news.

If you need any Beta testers, give me a shout.

My projects are parked awaiting the release so I have the time.

Which is why I've been loitering here so much lately

So 1.07 is going to ship initially without Playbook support? That royally sucks. if we are going to be kept waiting yet another month, how about a comprehensive list of new commands at least?

Isn't it better than making everyone wait?

I'd really like playbook support as that is going to be my main target. But I can get alot of things coded and running before PB support is finished, then just move it over when it is supported,

Blackberry App Development & ZX Spectrum Game Development.

You have Playbook support right now, with the standard AppGameKit functions.

TGC have to see which platforms are being used most and prioritise with those. If no one is using Bada for example, why waste 2-3 weeks of development to make 107 work on it?

Personally, I intend to target most every platform available (including Bada). Indie developers need all the marketplaces we can get and with a tool like AppGameKit (which makes it easy to target platforms) it is easy to target as many platforms as possible. This is assuming the project does not have something that is platform specific in it (which mine do not contain).

But as I stated earlier I like the idea of releasing version 1.07 in two waves.

Personally I am hoping all future updates will be in the form of smaller but quicker updates. I would rather have three smaller updates which are spaced one month apart as opposed to one large update (containing all the new material the three smaller updates contain) which takes three months to release. This way AppGameKit sees steady regular improvements (even if the improvements are minor).

That depends, are we talking a a couple of days delay or a couple of weeks delay?

Thank you Captain Obvious.

Seriously though I do feel that delaying Bada and Meego would be okay but I do not agree on delaying Playbook but that's just my opinion.

I agree with Bluefire
The AppGameKit Philosphy is: you can code your game once and then deploy your game to multiple platforms.
It is not about how many people use a certain platform to devellop and test an application. The point is you can get your game quickly on multiple platforms once it is finished. If you don`t think this is important you can better start programming in the sdk of your preferred platform directly.
A platform as Bada has a rather big user base. The merger with Tizen can futher enhance this.

I bought AppGameKit because I was a darkGDK user, and darkGDK is not that much supported anymore. Since AppGameKit follows the same "style" & "philosophy" it seemed like a viable option. I also use other SDKs.

I did not hear about this. Did Bada and Tizen merge?

I fully support the class system. It is better to have something done for a few platforms and thoroughly tested before adding it to all platforms. That way you don't need to release the same bugs on all platforms, saving work.

And since users get their hands on the update earlier, we can start implementing the updates sooner. So instead of us waiting for an update we can start working while TGC are finishing it up.

@Bluefire. There are press releases from Samsung in that direction.

for example:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/elizabethwoyke/2012/01/13/samsung-merging-its-bada-os-with-intel-backed-tizen-project/

They said apps written for Bada will be compatible with Tizen.
