Valve hammer map.

I'm on a 2.4ghz processor and bsp takes a while to load. Yet the same map loaded in half life takes only a couple of seconds. Why is this. Will we see a bsp map loading time be improved in patches to come? will we see it get worse? or nobody gives a rats arse so just leave it as it is and stop grumbling

My Q3 maps load very quickly here. Never tried with HL though. Can you post an HL hammer map and I'll try it.

are you sure that there are no errors in the map?

When you compile in Hammer, enable all the geometry verification checks and so on.

Could just be as I said before that HL is slow loading. Seperate DLLs are responsible for handling HL / Quake maps. The Q3 one probably had more work done on it.
