The picture is not showing.
What kind of light? Static or Dynamic? What is its range?
What is its color?
Is the ambient turn down all the way or the color set to dark?

More info please, so we can help you out.

Be sure you have lightmapping turned on.

In the editor menu:
Files > Preferences

And Here Is A Penguin:
FPSC OneSource [DeskTop App] - Bringing everything together into one.

You can use the < or > keys to raise or lower the ambience.
Try moving the light a little to force the engine to redo lightmapping.
Also which shader is assigned to the segments.

Can you post a screen shot please.

If this is what I think you are asking then I have to say that this is the way that FPSC works with the lighting system in general.
Maybe its because you are in an enclosed room?

Try 'removing all the ceiling\roof' segments from your test room. This will open up your room to the outside world and allow light to come into your room.

When using light markers in 'enclosed' rooms you can up the general lighting (ambience) using the < > keys on your keyboard which has already been mentioned before.

I'm not sure though what functionality FPSC 'Free' version has.

I hope this has helped.
